If you’ve ever played a video game, odds are you have wondered what it would be like to be that character. Now, you have your chance.

In select cities across the world, you can slay dragons, fight monsters and run through mystical forests completing quests for lost princesses or even an average traveler through an experience called Magiquest. Paying a $15 one-time only fee will buy you a wand that saves your information, which you can use over and over again. However, there is an $11 hourly fee that you pay as you go.

One problem with Magiquest is that the closest one to Lubbock is Grapevine (a suburb of Dallas). If you’re ever near Dallas and have some money to spend, why not have some fun fighting magical monsters, dueling your friends and getting gold. You can take the adventure out of the designated areas and take it to an online MMORGP (Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) and continue all of the fun, using your wand at your house.

This new use of technology opens up the options for a whole new kind of game. Imagine playing the newest Call of Duty game, and one of your friends throws a flash-bang grenade, and you get confused because you hear a ringing in your ears and see bright lights. Any video game you can imagine is applicable to get transferred into this brand new system.

If video games are your thing, this would be one cool way to spend an afternoon, actually playing as a character in a game. There’s no more blaming the controller for not doing well.
