At-a-glance

One half of the school year has finished, now the new semester might bring new teachers or new classes, but it will definitely bring more homework and papers.

Recently, you might have found that it's getting a bit hard to find a pen in the mounds of papers that you have in your bag, or to open your locker without having to catch papers and books as they fall out.

You might be thinking: I don't have enough space for anything any more! But the truth is, your just in for some early spring cleaning. Let's start the new semester off right and learn how to organize!

Many of those old homework assignments or scrap pieces of paper, the ones dated from back in September, you probably do not need anymore. Empty out your backpack or purse and find these papers that just make everything messy and hard to find.

Look through them and determine which ones you do not need anymore. Throw them away! With the homework you think you will need to keep, find a old separate folder and put them neatly inside of it.

Now on to that messy locker. Find a free 9th period, or even during your lunch or study hall, and ask your teacher for a pass to go to your locker. Cleaning your locker out will only take 10 minutes if you do it properly.

Throw away all the old food and assignments if you feel you will not need them. Any extra clothes? Bring them home! Only leave one sweater and a pair of sneakers in case you forget them for gym.

Lastly find new folders for any new classes you have and label them, make sure only assignments for that class go into that folder.

Now you can breathe free knowing your are organized and neat! Good Luck!
