On Friday, April 13, seniors on the Golden Eagles Track and Field team had their moment in the spotlight. Following the pre-qualification rounds, the 13 senior track participants lined up on the 50 yard line with their mothers and fathers. One by one athletes walked down the field being recognized for their outstanding efforts and accomplishments, on and off the field.

Being true student athletes, all have plans of fulfilling a college education. Some are attending The Ohio State University, others Ohio University, and one even has a full ride to the University of Dayton; athletes plan on studying in all fields from social work to molecular genetics. Not only have they achieved academically, but they have also performed well on the track; for many the case has been that these athletes have competed on a state level already this year or in previous years, and their hopes and expectations for this season aren’t any lower.
