This year’s high school varsity softball team has seven graduating seniors. The team celebrated their senior night on April 25 at a home game against Monroe High School. All the seniors present got to start somewhere in the game and the whole team did a good job of making contact with the ball all night. The BHS girls won the game in the fifth inning.
The underclassmen on the team all worked together to make signs for the seniors, as well as put together fun gifts for each of them. The seniors were very thankful for all their hard work. Seniors also put together a list of their favorite memories and advice to the younger girls on the team. This was read aloud as each senior was recognized before the start of the game.
Senior night of course brought up some mixed emotions about the end of high school and softball. Everyone is sad to see the season ending and the days of playing high school ball coming to an end. Senior Taylor Stoner says, “I will miss doing everything together as a team.” But the time the team does have left together will be spent doing their best to enjoy the one another and finish the season with a bang.
