Seniors, the moment you have all been waiting for has arrived. GRADUATION is around the corner which means COLLEGE is the next block over. The only thing that ruins the excitement for this time in your life is the realization that you actually have to pay for the rest of your education. Sometimes the scholarship searches don’t really provide much for you, or you just don’t know where to start, from now until the end of the year I will be posting 10 scholarships a week just to give you a head start.

 

Prom for All Scholarship

This scholarship contest is for students who are 25 years of age or younger. Participants will have the opportunity to organize a prom dress donation drive and win a $2000 scholarship or grand prize limo ride. To enter this scholarship contest, each participant must recruit five friends who are 25 years or younger by submitting their cell phone numbers through Do Something's Prom for All website. To be eligible to win the grand prize limo ride, each participant must give a detailed account of the drive they organized in their community. The report may include, but is not limited to photos, videos, and written testimonials. Beginning April 27th, every other Friday two winners will be chosen for: (1) the drive that has collected the most dress; and (2) the drive who most creatively and thoroughly advertised. Abbott & Fenner Scholarship

This scholarship is for high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in an accredited college/university. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must submit an essay with 500 to 1,000 words on a given topic.

Bruce Lee Foundation Scholarship

This scholarship is for students who are 16 years of age or older and who will be attending or are already attending a two-year college, four-year university, or licensed trade or vocational school in the United States. Criteria used in evaluating applicants include, but is not limited to, involvement in extra-curricular activities/community service/work experience, future potential and knowledge of Bruce Lee.

Delete Cyber bullying Scholarship Award

This scholarship is for high school, college, and graduate students and students planning to enter college. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be attending or planning to attend an accredited US college or university for undergraduate or graduate studies and be US citizens or permanent residents. To apply for this scholarship, applicants must write an essay no longer than 500 words in length on a given topic related to cyber bullying. Selection is based on the written essay and focused on creativity, content, and a commitment to the cause of deleting cyber bullying

"From Failure to Promise" Essay Scholarship Contest

This essay contest is for high school seniors and current college students with a 3.0 GPA. To apply for this scholarship, applicants must read the book "From Failure to Promise" and write an essay. Applicants must be pursuing or planning to pursue a degree at an accredited college/university in the United States.

Sharps Compliance Scholarship Essay Contest

This scholarship is for US and Canadian citizens who have been accepted to or are currently enrolled in an accredited university for the fall 2012 semester. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be pursuing health care related studies. To apply for this scholarship, applicants must submit an essay on the topic of accidental needle-stick injuries outside of the hospital and healthcare setting.

Get This Party Started! Scholarship

This scholarship is for high school seniors who are graduating from any high school in the United States in May/June of 2012. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have a 2.0 GPA or above, be planning to attend a postsecondary school in the fall of 2012, and be US citizens. Applicants must be planning a graduation party of any size. To apply for this scholarship, applicants must submit a creative new graduation party idea or write about something that would make their graduation party memorable. Two scholarships will be awarded: one to a male applicant and one to a female applicant.

Independence Day Scholarship Essay Contest

This is a college scholarship for all high school students who are enrolled in a public, private, alternative, parochial school, or a home study program. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be US citizens currently attending school in the United States or in an American military school outside of the country. To apply for this scholarship, applicants must write an essay of at least 1,500 words on the theme "I declare! What it took to declare our independence." Essays will be evaluated on creativity, theme development, clarity of ideas, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure. Note that the word count requirement is taken very seriously; essays that are less than 1,500 words (even 1,499 words) will be disqualified.
