ISLC has no security. Many people say it is due to the fact that this school is safe. Others disagree and say that this school is not safe at all.
Teachers and administrators take a lot of precaution to keep us safe. They watch over us during class and lunch time. We have random searches which show that the school cares for its students.
Many students agree that this school is completely safe because of the random searches Dr. Jauregui conducts every week.
“This school is safe because it is small and teachers are always looking after the students,” freshman Reyna Martinez said.
Reyna believes this school is safe because everyone in school knows each other and the teachers know most of the students. She also feels safe in her classrooms because the windows have bars.
But some students, such as Karen Arispe, believe ISLC is in a bad environment.
“If this school was safe we would not need window bars and plus this school is surrounded with factories with huge trucks,” junior Karen Arispe said.
Recently our school was vandalized and burglarized. They broke into Ms. Davis’ class and set off the fire extinguisher. Ms. Leuterio’s doorknob was broken off her computer and a projector was stolen. They stole 19 laptops from Mr. Lau’s classroom.
But despite all this some students still believe ISLC is a safe school. What do you think?
