On Friday April 27th, seniors at ILS departed on their Grad Bash festivities to Universal Studios/Islands of Adventures. The students boarded four different buses from school and drove up-state to Orlando to visit the two parks and City-Walk where they would enjoy pre-parties, the theme parks, and live concerts from Miami’s own, Pitbull and DJ Khaled.

On what she looked forward to the most, Senior Paulina Bollat shared, “I looked forward to visiting Harry Potter Land and buying a butter beer.” The Wizarding World of Harry Potter had to be on the most anticipated part of the trip for almost all the seniors, even the teachers.

Senior Laura Carvajal also shared her exciting time at the park. Right after the pre-party when they let everyone into the parks to ride, she and her friends rushed to the Wizarding World first. They went into The Forbidden Journey, which is the ride inside the castle.

She had to say, “It was amazing how they brought the movies to life. I literally felt like I was on a journey with Harry Potter.”

On what her favorite thing about that night was Laura shared, “The fact that I went on the Jurassic Park ride at night was the only one to get completely soaked.”

When it was time for Pitbull’s performance, however, Orianna Tuffano said that she took the opportunity to ride because everyone was watching him. She went into The Mummy which went down from a 90 minute wait to 35.

Although it was a long afternoon and night for the seniors, it’s safe to say that Grad Bash was a hit. It was great to see that almost everyone went on their last trip together as a class and made the best out of it.
