What do I think of when I hear the name Hines Ward? Dedication, reliability and of course that famous smile. 
   Ward is the holder for almost every Steelers receiving record that actually counts, and after 14 years of being consistent, he is considered great. However, the 36-year old was cut from the team for what seems like no apparent reason.  How do you do this to a receiver who has received 1000 catches, 12083 yards and 85 touchdowns?  I am still wondering.
   Ward was getting old, in his 14^th season, but he was still dedicated and wanted to play for the Steelers, I think that is enough motivation to let him stay.
   Out of all the players that were released by the Steelers, this, to me anyway, was the most shocking.  Ward said himself he was looking forward to another season with the team. Despite their reasons, I think that a player that has dedicated 14 years to the same team deserves the chance to finish his career on his own time and his own terms. 
   Personally, I do not think that he will join any other teams, but he will probably become some sort of newscaster or TV personality. He will be missed on the field by all Steelers fans and those who enjoy the game of football.  After all, how can you hate someone who smiled all the time?
