The Senior Court definitely looked different on Monday the 21st of May. Over the weekend, one of the trees that has been part of M-CHS for 40 years had been cut down. The blue spruce that previously adorned the courtyard has seen its last day. The reason for the removal was that the roots of the tree were interfering with the pipe system. The tree had been planted by the 1971-72 student council as a living memorial to the late Lawrence Wayne Sterfoss, a former M-CHS student who died during the 71-72 school year. When students began to filter into the school for another day of learning, few knew what it truly meant to lose that tree.
