Harry Kaufman asks Bianca Beekman to prom - Jason Labroo
Seniors of the Class of 2011 have come up with some ingenious ways to pop the question.
On the WHS band trip, Michael Matzinger surprised debonaire Magnolia Ip on her way to flag practice.
“[I] put P-R-O-M-? on five different flags,” he said. “When she walked into rehearsal, four other debonaires were holding up the P-R-O-M ones... I walked in twirling the question mark.”
Magnolia was pleasantly surprised to be asked, saying, “I wasn’t expecting it at all… that made my day.”
Amy Schmitz was also asked by her beaux to accompany him to Prom while on the band trip.
“We were at this dance thing, and suddenly Michael, Aroh, Jack, and Benji came over and… carried me over to the DJ table,” she said. “Aaron [Dvorak] stood up on the...table with a microphone” to ask the question.
Harry Kaufman decided to ask his date, Bianca Beekman, on the way into Spanish Class.
He said that he bought five pairs of pants, on which he wrote P, R, O, M, and a question mark, and gave them to students from the class, as well as the teacher.
“I walked with her… and when we walked into [class], I held up the question mark and flowers,” he said. “She said yes.”
