With a rough start in the beginning of the season, the Red
Wolves finished with a 16-9 record and managed to grab one home playoff game.
Unfortunately, the season ended there with a loss against Roanoke Rapids.
“I
think the season went well, considering the early season distractions,” said
Coach Fred Blanks. The team did not make it as far as they had hoped, but they
did accomplish a winning season. “I will remember the whole season. The guys
grew into a team and began to play for each other.”
A
majority of the team will be graduating this June, leaving some of the players
a lot of slack to pick up, but there will be a lot of returning members.
“We
will get our nucleus back,” said Blanks. “Four of our five starters are
returning and we will get all of our reserve players back.”
With
almost a year to prepare for next years season, the team hopes to continue to
build and have another winning season.
