Excitement mounts in the music world from the newly announced details of a fifth studio album being released by Linkin Park. With the new album scheduled to be dropped June 26, 2012.
The new Living Things album has caught the bands usual parade of attention. Mostly from the albums pre-released single “Burn it Down”. Throughout the bands successful career they have managed to sell mostly seven albums and 18 singles & EP’s successfully since the year 2000. The new album is said to bring back the nu-metal sound of the bands earlier days.
The album Living Things was produced by veteran producer Rick Rubin. According to Chester Bennington, singer the new album in a lot of ways would “mark a return to the sound Linkin Park gave on their first two albums, Hybrid Theory and Meteora.” (loudwire.com)
Another member of the band, Mike Shinoda also made comments about what the new album would bring to the bands image in a recent blog post. Stating that the album was written using “…all the tools in the toolbox, not just some. Everything at once, together.” He later then stated in the blog post how for him “… it’s about getting back to the real “hybrid theory”- not the album with that name, but the idea that six guys in our band have drastically different tastes in music, and the blending of all those sounds into one is exactly what we built our band upon.”(loudwire.com)
