Devin Fails and Tatum Collier are this issue’s Leos Lil Pals. They are being recognized by second grade teacher, Mrs. Red, for their wonderful attitude.
“Devin always puts so much effort into his work, and I like how he does not ask for help until he can’t figure out the problem on his own,” said Mrs. Red.
Fails loves attending Granger Elementary because he always has a lot of fun with his teachers, especially Mrs. Red.
“I think I was chosen because I like to help out other students like my best friend, Jaden Rollie,” said Fails.
Fails is the oldest siblings of four sisters. “I wish I didn’t have sisters because they always try to fight, kick and punch me,” said Fails.
Fails has been attending Granger since he was in pre-kindergarten. “I like Granger because it doesn’t snow on the playground. I don’t like snow,” said Fails. This bright young student enjoys learning about math the most because Mrs. Red always makes it fun.
“I love to do addition, but not all the time. I also love to play sports,” said Fails.
When Fails grows up, he wants to be a wrestler.
“I play games on my Xbox, and one day I want to be on T.V. like them,” said Fails.
Devin Fails role model is John Cena. But his classmate, Tatum Collier’s role model is her teacher Mrs. Red.
“Mrs. Red has made this year more fun then the rest, and I hope I can be a teacher just like her,” said Collier.
Collier was originally from Georgetown, and it is her first year at Granger Elementary.
“I think Granger is better because at Georgetown we had so many kids, and it was always too loud,” said Collier.
Also an aspiring athlete, Collier also plays for the Granger Lions youth basketball league.
“This is my first year to play, and I like it because I can hit people and run a lot,” said Tatum.
Her activities are not limited to school and sports.  She also enjoys playing and being active with her older and younger sisters.
“We always play with Barbies because that’s our favorite thing to do. We also love to ride bikes,” said Collier.
When Collier is not exploring outside, she is experimenting with her science and math skills.
“Mrs. Red always makes those two subjects fun in class. My favorite part about it is when she lets us play with cubes,” said Collier.
Collier and Fails both hope to follow their dreams, whether it is being on T.V. or teaching others.
