Coach Chris Olson has been teaching and coaching for 14 years, five years at BHS.
“I’ve enjoyed teaching and coaching as well as making unforgettable relationships with all of my students.” Olson said.
Olson has always been around coaching because his dad was a coach and teaching simply because he likes the fact that he can help others.
“I like seeing them understand something that maybe they once struggled with,” Olson said. “It’s extremely fulfilling. Teaching and coaching is really my first love.”
This will be Olson’s last year here as he has taken a regional manager position at a National Vision Optics store in North Texas.
“I’m not going to say that I’ll never come back to Bastrop,” Olson said. “I’ve enjoyed the experience and the sense of a great community even in the highs and lows it is truly unforgettable,”
