Tennis is having an amazing season this year. They are undefeated with a record of eight wins and zero loses. There is not really a player that stands out the most as being better than everybody else on the team because they all work hard and all love the game, as we can tell by their season record thus far. Coach Gendron said, “They worked even harder this year because they have a title to hold since they are back-to-back state champions and are going for their 3rd state championship in a row.” In order for them to have the opportunity to become state champions this year a lot of younger players have had to step up. Sadey St. Amant and Madeline Wilburn are going for their (4th consecutive girls doubles 1 individual court title). This will be Skyler Flowers second consecutive boy’s single individual title. Tori Calcote and Andrew Risley will be shooting for the mixed doubles individual title. Jack Wilson and Mason Vice will be shooting to win their First Doubles this year while Ali Siddiqui and Sanders Edmonson will be going for their Third Doubles. Madeline Wilburn, Tori Calcote, Kelley Kohler, and Anna Myers are hoping to win this year to have their third state title before they go off to college. Sanders Edmonson really enjoys being on the team. He thinks they have a really good chance of winning state this year, and he is very confident that they will win because of the effort and hard work they have put into it this year. Sanders said he is very excited to be going to his third doubles this year. He has not won yet, but this year he is preparing and working hard and getting better because he wants to win state in his individual match.
