Dancing, costumes, and cat-fighting is what you can expect when watching an episode of Lifetime's Dance Moms.

The show is an amusing documentary series set at Abby Lee Dance Company in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It is shot like a reality show and is showing the lives of the group and their road to competitions.

The cast features seven mothers working to make their daughters famous. The girls, along with their mothers, hope to reach the ultimate careers in entertainment. The show is famous for showcasing Miller, a very passionate dance teacher who is controversial at times. The main source of conflict in the show is "the pyramid," featuring the best dancers to the worst.

Now after the series finale, there is a new spin-off from Dance Moms called Dance Moms: Miami. This series is focused on a Miami-based contemporary dance studio owned by Victor Smalley and Angel Armas.

The team’s is "Turning Kids into Dancers and Dancers into Stars," which leads to conflict among the competitive mothers. Similar to Dance Moms, the studio has a list of the group’s dancers from the top performing to the least.

The shows are very similar yet different. On Dance Moms, the mothers may disagree and argue, but at the end of the day, they can come together to support the girls. While it seems like the group on Dance Moms: Miami is very competitive and seem to argue more over the talent of their children, both of the shows show insight into the very competitive dance world for children.

Both groups have to make sacrifices to dance, like other activities and spending time at home. These two shows will have you glued to your seat wanting more.
