Having won season 10 of singing competition “American Idol”
only a year ago, Scotty McCreery has gotten a fast and successful start in the
music industry with his debut album “Clear As Day,” which sold one million
records worldwide in less than three months of its release, certified for
platinum, and landed him the No. 1 on Billboard magazine’s list of Top New
Country Artists of 2011.
The debut of “Clear As Day” made Scotty McCreery the
youngest man in history to open at the top of the all-genre Billboard
chart. His first single titled “I Love
You This Much” went gold within a matter of a few weeks, and after working on
another single for some time with Interscope Records, his second single, “The
Trouble With Girls,” went gold in just two weeks.
“The Trouble With Girls” has that classic sense of American
country that is loved by many. With only an acoustic guitar playing and perhaps
a few sampled tracks to make the song fuller, McCreery’s voice is definitely
the main focus of the song. His voice is very misleading, though. Being only
18, it is safe to say that he looks his age, if not younger, yet he has a
strikingly deep voice. In his music video for the single, it looks as if he is
lip-syncing the words to a much older artist when in fact it is his own
voice.
McCreery has said in an interview with Rolling Stone that he
is “delighted with the reception his songs received in such a quick amount of
time and delighted with how much people enjoy his live performances.” He has
toured with The Band Perry, which also only helped his name to become even more
known that it already is. McCreery says that he is currently enjoying the life
of being on tour and meeting new fans and artists all of the time and hopes to
continue to do so until it is time for him to get back in the studio. It is
likely that McCreery will continue to wow the world with his country-pop blend
that continues to sell on iTunes and in stores.
