The theme for this year's prom is Sakura Yume. This means "Cherry blossom dreams".Our colors are pink and green.
Prom committee is staying after school every Wednesday and committing lunch every Thursday to preparing for prom. We are going to have to stay more days after school and on the weekends to make sure everything is ready.
As of March 29th, we have two weeks and one day until prom. We were planning on having prom at the Peabody hotel in Little Rock, but it was more than the junior class could afford. With that in mind, we decided to have prom in the cafeteria.
Some of you may not know, but only juniors and seniors may attend prom. Some students may have significant others who do not attend Mayflower High School, but they can attend by obtaining a permission slip from one of the junior class sponsors. The age limit of anyone who has already graduated high school is 20.
Girls and guys need to keep in mind the dress code.
-no plunging necklines or backlines
-no bare midriffs
-no skirts with thigh-high slits
-no mesh or see-through inserts
-two pieces are allowed-no exposed midriff
-guys and girls must wear formal or semi-formal clothes
-no jeans or athletic shoes
-if any student is dressed inappropriately, he or she will not be allowed to attend
-if in doubt, ask a sponsor
Some of the features you will see are a stream, gazebo, and cherry blossom trees. Prom 2012 is going to be very elegant.
