Hunger Games more like “Fun Games”

What’s the big deal about “The Hunger Games?” It’s just a movie based off a book. If you never read the book, like me, or knew anything about it, like me, it was quite confusing. Right off in the beginning of the movie they had everyone line up, so they could pick who was going to represent their region. The part that was unclear was why they were doing this. There really was no story behind it if you never read the book. They were just there being chosen to fight for their life.

When I actually thought about it, this movie reminds me of a reality show. Once the contestants were chosen, they were brought to a five star hotel. With all the food they could eat. Then they went to a starting ceremony and had to compete the next day. The only difference is, there not competing for prize money, but just for the chance to live and more food for their region. Not gonna lie if it were me I would want the money.

Another thing is that the contestants that were chosen were between the ages of 12-18. The more food they got the more their name could be chosen. When in reality whose parents are gonna let their kid go fight to the death when I can’t even get the car for myself.

It might be just me, but I couldn’t tell if this movie was set in the past or future. At first I thought it was in the past because not everyone in the region had enough food. And they also dressed like people from the past. The only weapons they used were bow and arrows, knives and things like that. No guns or other present day weapons. But when I saw the main characters dress on fire that had to a future invention.

Lately the media has said its too violent for children under 12 to watch. Which is not true. Why shouldnt young children be able to watch people kill people, for survival. Its not like if someone sees it in a movie they’re going to go do it.
