In the past year or so, Maybach Music recording artist, Meek Mill, has been blowing up. First, he made the jump from T.I.’s Grand Hustle label to Rick Ross’s Maybach Music Group (MMG). Following that, he appeared on MMG’s “Self Made Vol. 1” collaboration album alongside Wale, Pill, Gunplay and Rick Ross. He had two hit songs from that album, including “Ima Boss” and “Tupac Back,” both featuring Rick Ross. He also had a critically acclaimed mixtape, called “Dreamchasers” which was hosted by DJ Drama. Just recently on May 7, he released the next installment to the critically acclaimed “Dreamchasers” series, “Dreamchasers 2”.
In the past few months, a number of mixtapes have crashed popular mixtape site, datpiff.com, including Wiz Khalifa’s “Taylor Allderdice” and Rick Ross’s “Rich Forever”. When Meek Mill released Dreamchasers 2, he also crashed the website. It got an amazing 2 million downloads in its first week. As of May 16, it has gotten 2.7 million downloads. Currently, he has plans to re-release the mixtape with 4 new tracks. The re-release should be released before MMG’s “Self Made Vol. 2” is released at the end of June.
Meek Mill did a very good job with this mixtape. He is surely getting fans excited for his debut album “Dreams & Nightmares,” which is scheduled to release in August.
There are a lot of potential hits on here like “Amen” featuring Drake and Jeremih, “A1 Everything,” featuring Kendrick Lamar, ”Flexing” and “Burn,” featuring Big Sean.
