It’s that festive time of year again! With the holidays right around the corner, the students of Thomaston High School are showing off their decorating skills. In preparation for Halloween, every advisory period decorated pumpkins. This season brings a new contest—door decorating.
Each advisory group was presented with the challenge of decorating their door around a winter-based theme. With such a broad topic, people are really getting creative! Many are impressed with the seventh grade and their work, but the high school doors are definitely not going unnoticed. The original ideas make the school look fantastic.
While the contest is fun, the purpose of it was also to help each advisory bond as a team. Whether or not people are growing closer is unclear, especially because of the activity periods. Chasse Guerrera, a sophomore at THS, says, “It’s fun, however a lot of people in advisory groups aren’t able to help with the decorating because of clubs they have to go to during activity.” Despite this small setback, everyone at least seems to be enjoying themselves.
So, what’s up next? Artists better get their paintbrushes ready, because each team will have the opportunity to design a mural to be painted on the gym. But as of now, everyone is working hard to get their door done by Friday the sixteenth. Who will prevail with the best decoration and win the competition? Everyone will just have to wait and see!
