Mustangs 7th grade A-team basketball season is over!! Did they prove
themselves to be the best, or did they fall under the pressure?
In the
middle of the season the Mustangs went through a tough slump with three of
their starting players injured. But they fought through it, and in week five,
after the mustangs were undeafeted, they played Smithson Valley, also an
undeafeted team. During the game the score was tied 41 all, with two minutes
left. After a 3-pointer with only 45 secounds left Smithson Valeey shot the
ball, but missed and the Mustangs got the win!!
After
beating Canyon 48-26, the Mustangs had one more game left to be champs! As game
day arrived, the Mustangs were ready to play, but as the first half came to a
close the Mustangs were down 28-24. As the second half opened, Corbett came back
strong. After making 12 consecutive
points, the Mustangs pulled away and won the game!!
Following
this final victory, the Corbett Mustangs finished the season undefeated and were
declared Distrct Champions!!
