Most of us know that the class of 2008 was the class that had potential but didn’t use it. The class of 2009 was the smart class with 12 people graduating with a 3.9 to 4.0 GPA. Now what is the class of 2010 going to be categorized as? My class has a very diverse academic scale, as well as popularity spectrum. Unfortunately though in today’s world, only the bad things are noticed. It only takes a few people to ruin the whole reputation of the senior class when most of us are actually good kids. This is why many people think that my class is becoming like the class of 2008. The senior class doesn’t have a lot of bad people in it and we aren’t a bunch of pot smokers who go and party every weekend. Now I know there are a group of people from every class that goes out and parties, but for some reason those few from the 2010 class seem to drag everyone in with them. Thus, making people think that the majority of the people in the senior class are stoners. There are people in the 2010 class who have lettered five times, but it seems like the only people that get noticed are the ones who have gotten high five different ways. I’ve heard from many of my underclassman friends and even from friends in my class that the seniors are a bunch of “arrogant jerks (to be school appropriate)”. This is not true, but as I said earlier, it only takes a few to ruin many. Most people in the senior class are nice people who are cool to hang out with. On the other hand, there are a few preppy seniors that act mean to everyone and think they are, for lack of better terms, hot stuff. The sad fact is they aren’t. As we saw at the homecoming Olympics this year when one particular team was losing to a “less popular” boys team, almost every student in the stands and even some of the parents where cheering against the preps. This just goes to show how most people really feel. Another bad characteristic attributed to my class is the maturity level, or lack thereof. It surprises me at how immature some of the people really are. There are a few kids in my math class who make fart noises almost every day for some unknown reason, maybe they think they are being funny, but who really can tell? Fart sounds stopped being funny, oh I don’t know about fifth grade. There are some sophomores and even freshman that are more responsible, respectful, and mature than these people. Come on, we are seniors now and adulthood is literally coming up in a few short months. So all in all I think my class has a lot of good people in it who do good things. As I said earlier though, the few bad kids in the class ruin it for everyone. Being honest though, I know my friends and me can’t wait to get out of school and graduate. Not just to be done with high school, but to get away from being labeled as one of the bad kids in the class of 2010.
