Tuesday, April 24, 2012 By Genesis Navarro [ArticleImageHyperLink] The Importance of Homecoming     I’ve always wondered about Homecoming, and the reasons why people get so crazy over it with who to go with and what to wear and where to go out to eat.     It’s always a huge deal especially for girls. But why?    Don’t get me wrong I love getting dressed up as much as any other girl; I love the new dresses, the dates, the excitement, but why is it so important?     I watch Disney movies so I think all girls want that fairytale moment that you see in it even if they don’t want to admit it.      That fairytale moment isn’t always plausible even for the most popular girl or the couple that has been going out for years.    So girls, don’t get upset if it doesn’t work out exactly how you planned; it’s alright we still have the rest of our life to look forward to. Life isn’t just high school.     Guys if you’re actually reading this and not just skipping over it because in the title it says “Homecoming” first thank you, second, make your date feel special, you don’t have to go all out like getting a limo or party bus, going out to dinner, etc.      If you make her upset or she is just upset for some ridiculous reason try to cheer her up and remember that is just high school so don’t stress over it.     I know way too many people who stress over these dances and it doesn’t usually end up happily for them because they stress too much.       If your parents want to take over and make you go all out just remember that they love you and want you to have a good time. Don’t hate them for it.     Homecoming can be great or not; let’s try to make this one great!
