"The Dictator", a gut-bursting movie about a dictator (Sacha Baron Cohen) who goes to far lengths to ensure his country doesn't turn into a democracy, was an absolute success. It tells the story of a dictator from the fictional country of the Republic of Wadiya, who is in the process of building a "pointy" atomic bomb to obliterate Israel. His plans are halted when he is abducted by those protecting him and abandoned in New York, while his country is in "danger" of becoming a democracy.
It is such a masterpiece, being able to compile humor and political and social issues affecting the world into an 83-minute film. The movie shines the light on the corruption, racism, and inequality (along with MANY other things) which swarm the nation. Not only does it put political leaders on the lookout for criticism, but (the co-star) also represents those out there brave enough to risk it all for the betterment of the rest of the 99%.
Overall, this isn't just a laugh-out-loud, must-see movie, it's a pee-in-your-pants, hope-your-excessive-laughing-doesn't-bother-others movie. "The Dictator" is definitely too good to be missed.
