The Obama-Biden ticket was overwhelmingly victorious in today’s mock election in which 153 high-school students, faculty, and staff participated. Obama received 75 percent of the student vote, and only one of 18 faculty and staff members who voted supported McCain.

Of the 12 propositions also on the mock-election ballot, Prop. 8, which eliminates gay marriage, was handily defeated, as 86 percent voted no. Prop. 4, which involves parental notification in the case of teenage pregnancy, was also very unpopular; 75 percent voted no. The only proposition that received strong support was Prop. 2, which involves animal rights, as 71 percent voted yes.
