Across campus, faculty and students are celebrating Danville High School’s 100th year, and no group of students is more excited than the Admirals football team, reveling in 100 years of excellence.
The first mention of a Danville High School football game comes from a 1912 news release describing the team’s success against "the Lancaster High School" on Oct. 16. The near century old article ends with the praise "This is the Danville team’s first game, and they acquitted themselves with honor."
With 10 state championships and eight undefeated seasons spread across the past century, Danville High School has a long tradition of distinction in football. In fact, DHS is ranked 27 in the nation in victories for a high school football program (711 confirmed victories to date). The team began on a high note and has continued in excellence for a century.
