All that hard work finally paid off on April 7, at the Laramie High School auditorium.

Students with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher were invited to this ceremony.

LHS honor students were recognized by principal Kim Sorenson, instructional facilitator Carol Kirkwood, and assistant principals Adrienne Polis, and Scott Handley. Students, parents, friends and teachers gathered in the LHS auditorium, and together they celebrated students’ accomplishments.

LHS is a place full of talented individuals. Christine Tezak, a junior at LHS, said, “I felt it [the ceremony] went really well. A lot of people cheered for me. It was pretty sweet.” Tezak said that as she walked across the stage, she felt like all that hard work in school was worth it. “I was also praying that I wouldn’t trip.” Tezak said.

Patrick Pajak, junior at LHS said, “I worked extremely hard to achieve all of my accomplishments at Laramie High School, being an honor student is one of the best feelings I have ever had.”

“Wearing the golden sash made me feel proud of my high school years,” Shivam Patel, senior at LHS said. Patel will be attending the University of Michigan in the upcoming school year.

The ceremony lasted about two hours. Afterwards, everyone proceeded to the cafeteria for refreshments provided by the Sodexo Food Service, LHS Food Service Director, and LHS Bakery Skills classes.

LHS would also like to thank the community sponsors: ACPE Federal Credit Union, American National Bank, Community First National Bank, First National Bank of Laramie, The Bank of Laramie, Kiwanis Club, Laramie Plains Federal Credit Union, Laramie Lions Club, Laramie Plains Lions Club, Laramie Plains Lions Club, Rotary Club of Laramie, and Sunrise Rotary Club. The involvement of these organizations with the LHS honors ceremony is greatly appreciated.
