On Tuesday, Oct. 25, Children's Book World hosted an author talk and book signing in the Venice High Library.  Author Lanai Taylor spoke about her new book "Daughter of Smoke and Bone."

Taylor is a National Book Award finalist who received a Starred Review for her novel "Lips Touch: Three Times."  According to Ms. Caroline Gill, Venice High's librarian, a Starred Review is extremely important in the world of school librarians.

'"Daughter of Smoke and Bone" is a complex story, but it is well-told and well-paced, raising intriguing questions about notions of identity, expectation, trust, betrayal, and belonging,"  wrote the LA Times in an article about the author.

Copies of "Daughter of Smoke and Bone" and "Lips Touch: Three Times" were on sale following the event.
