As a new school year begins for students, a new school year also begins for some new teachers at Rockville High.

One of these new teachers is Jill Williams. She is a new instructor in the science department, educating students in classes such as Biology and Anatomy and Physiology. Mrs. Williams grew up in Massachusetts, and she is married. She does not have any children, but she does have one cat. She attended Bridgewater – Raynham Regional High School, and her favorite experience at this high school was “seeing my hard work pay off by getting into college.”

After graduating high school, she attended Providence College and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology.

Mrs. Williams moved to Connecticut about a year ago, and she decided to become a teacher due to her love of science and due to her desire to help others. Her first impression of Rockville High was that the staff members were all very nice and the school was the perfect size.             She commented, “It was not too big, or too small.”

Mrs. William’s advice to students is to “work hard because the ‘real world’ is getting more and more competitive. However, also have fun in high school because it goes by very quickly.”

Leila Rebai, a senior, commented, “No, I don’t like her, I love her. In each class there is something new. There are still the notes and the lectures, but she always incorporates activities that will help us study for her tests.”

“She is very involved with her students. She wants to know how we are doing and she doesn’t just give notes. She does a lot of creative activities to help us learn,” said senior Natalie Fererri.

Jovan Woodson, a senior, explained, “She is a very nice person; she enjoys what she does and she is very interactive with her students. She is easy to get along with and all together she is fun and a good teacher.”

Lastly, senior, Kaitlyn O’Gara said, “She knows what she is talking about and she is really enthusiastic.”
